November Mini-Vacation

Jon and I have been planning for sometime to make the trip to Orlando, Florida for the temple. So finally this past weekend we were able to go. We left Friday afternoon after our classes and headed to Orlando. It is about a three and a half hour drive but four if you don't know where you are going. So we arrived at the La Quinta hotel that evening and decided to drive around. We ran into this huge mall called, Mall Millenia where we met Santa. The Mall was absolutely huge and it was heavily decorated for Christmas. We saw the biggest contained tree of our lives in the mall. After a little window shopping we headed to Mimi's Cafe for some dinner. Unfortunately I started to not feel very well so our evening was cut short. Saturday morning we got ready and went Ikea for some more shopping and Jon had to have their delicious cinnamon roles, I had a hot dog. After shopping, we set out on our adventure of finding the temple. We made it just in time for one of the last endowment sessions of the day. The temple was closing early so needless to say it was packed. On Friday they did 1180 endowments and were hoping to get 1000 more on Saturday. We had a great time and we always enjoy the peaceful feeling we get from attending the temple. We took a few pictures and headed home. It was a great mini-vacation and are already planning our next trip.

So I know it has been awhile since we have put up a new post, but we really wanted to wait until we got digital camera. Since my birthday was coming up Jon decided to get me an early present, so we could take some Halloween pictures for everyone to see. We had a great first Halloween as a newly married couple. Jon and I had decided to make a list of some of the traditions we wanted to start. Carving pumpkins and scary movies for Halloween were some of them.

Our friend Caitlin came to visit us on Halloween, so we were glad to have someone else around the apartment with us. Jon and I chose to dress up as football fans that got trampled as everyone was charging the field. We also decided to go all out on the trunk or treat at our church. So we carved a few pumpkins, set up some lights and spider webs, and headed to the church. We also thought it would be fun to play a little trick on some of the kids. So I hid in the back of our very spacious trunk and when the kids would walk by I would jump out and scare them! It was so funny. We could only do it to a few of the kids, because we didn't want to scare the littler kids. But there was this one little boy, he was about 7 or 8, that walked to our trunk he said trick or treat...and just as he was grabbing the candy from the bowl I jumped from the trunk and yelled "RAAARRR." He was so scared he ran off, then he came back again. He must have forgotten that our trunk had scared him. So I did it again. He was so scared and yelled "Lady you are really starting to bother me" in a very disturbed tone. There I was lying in the back of the trunk practically crying I was laughing so hard!

Needless to say, we had a very good Halloween and are already thinking of things we can do next year. I've posted a few pictures and also the video is a continuation to the "first show." You should appreciate dad!

We Are New

Ok so this is our first time working with a Blog. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon and I thought what better to do than to to create a blog so all my friends and family who live so very far away can see what is going on in the Quick life. I, the wife, will keep you updated on all the exciting things happening in our lives...well I will at least try to make it sound exciting!
